Who We Are...

Back in 1968 Alan Rogers identified a need for a campsite guide that was both qualitative and descriptive, without resorting to the use of symbols. This involved visiting the sites on a regular basis to assess their quality standards, then writing a short factual and honest description of that site.

Alan became a well-known and respected figure on the quality campsite circuit. He was 50 when he produced the first guide, retiring at 70 when Clive and Lois Edwards bought the company. In 2001 Mark Hammerton Group acquired Alan Rogers Guides.

Today the guides are edited from our main offices in rural Kent, along with all inspector training and organisation. Our Alan Rogers Marketing office, based in Holland focuses exclusively on promotional products and marketing services for campsites across Europe, including all UK and Irish parks

Olga is your primary sales contact for any questions you might have regarding marketing and promotion. She is widely travelled, with a good knowledge of the UK and Ireland (she lived and worked in Dublin for a time). She has tourism experience with a good understanding of the holiday booking process, the needs of parks and tourist attractions and the best way for them to reach holidaymakers. A keen camper since childhood caravan holidays, she is very well placed to assist you to reach a wide audience, and not just UK-based, and to ensure a strong future for your park.

Susie has been part of the Alan Rogers team for over 20 years, having worked with Clive and Lois Edwards in Dorset since 1988 when they took over the guides from Alan Rogers on his retirement. During that time she has visited most of our selected parks in all areas of the UK and watched (and edited!) as those parks have developed and thrived. She is responsibile for the production of all annual Alan Rogers titles, currently in two languages. An essential part of that role includes the editing of our comprehensive reports and ensuring that the information we provide in print and on-line is accurate, fair and up-to-date.

With over 25 years experience, Rod is well known throughout the camping and caravanning industry. He is a founder member of Mark Hammerton Travel, who acquired Alan Rogers Guides in 2002. As Campsites Director, Rod is responsible for selecting the parks which feature in our guides and also for maintaining sound relationships with the 3500 parks in our current range of guides. He still travels widely to view parks at first hand and manages our 30 strong team of campsite assessors during the summer months.
